Overview
Future planning, including medical, financial, and for research participation, is important for persons with dementia given the impact of the disease on capacity for decision making. This work explored issues of cognitive impairment screening, advance care directives and substitute decision making, and ethical and legal aspects of research involving older people with cognitive impairment. Data was collected via a series of cross-sectional surveys with clinicians, community-dwelling older adults, carers of persons living with dementia, and dementia researchers.
Progress
Data collection, analysis, and reporting is completed.
